Once upon a time, a young lady met a brave soldier and a story was born in the darkness of war, they had the lights of their hearts to guide them through the road of love, while hate was the master of their time. They shared kisses, fears, smiles and tears, yet the battle was calling upon them. He had to go, and she had to stay. Every second of the clock was ticking, and her sress was growing. Stress took over her and projected the ugliest scenarios in her head, throwing her in the vortex of depression. Despite everything she kept growing hope through the cruelness of her days. Later, there was news flooding over the country. Sad faces told her that he was gone. But no, not for her. He must remain alive. She kept on searching in the crowds for the face of her lover . Time passed. She is completely lost now. She completely lost not just her ability to smile and to feel. She also lost her home and her eyes were tired of not seeing what they have been looking for. She woke up one day, away from war, demolition, weapons, and bullets. In a calm place where she heard the sound of the wind again without explosions disturbing its peace. She saw him coming to her. She was finally free and where always wanted to be.
I've designed this collection just after I got out of Syria. Thats why the idea of bringing it to life anywhere but Syria, which the inspiration, didn't feel rigth. Ironically the war and the stress brought out so much beauty. For all these reasons, going back to Aleppo and working on the project there was so important for me. I wanted to creat it in Aleppo then let the world see it, so I can prove to everyone that beauty can still blossom in Syria.
